Employers can create different departments of a company.
To know more about how to create a department. Follow these following steps.
- In the navbar click the organization tab.
- The above step will open new tabs in the dropdown. Click the department tab.
- The above step will open the departments listing page.
- Click create button to create the department.
- The above step will open a popup to create a department.
- Enter department name.
- Select the company from the drop-down for which you want to create a department if you have multiple companies. Company is already explained in How to create company?.
- Click the limit headcount checkbox if you want to create a limit for employees of a department. If the limit headcount checkbox is not clicked then a single department can have many employees.
- If the limit headcount checkbox is clicked then the max headcount field will appear. Enter max headcount value to tell the system that a single department will contain employees.
- Select parent department from the dropdown. The system will show already existing departments in the dropdown. Employers can use the parent department to categorized departments. E.g. Finance department can be the parent of accounts.
- Select identifier from the dropdown.
- Select department hod from the dropdown.
- Enter department description.
- Click the save button to create the department.
- Department will be created and look like.
- Click the edit button to edit the department.
- Click on the edit button will open a popup to the editing department. Edit process is the same as like create process. Repeat step 5-14 from the above section of the document to the editing department.
- Employers can't edit the company in the department.
- Click the View button to view the department.
- Click on the View button will open a popup to view the department. Employees can't change anything.
- Click the Cancel button to close the popup.
- Click the delete button to delete the department.
- Click on the delete button will open a confirmation popup to delete the department.
- Click yes if you want to delete.
- Click no if you don't want to delete.
- Employers can delete only those departments which are not used yet.
